Turbocharger has the compressor driven by the exhaust gas from the engine. This is the type most commonly installed on a car engines. Turbochargers developed in 1954.
At sea level there is 0.016 pound of oxygen at cubic force. At the higher level the air is less, so there is less oxygen available, for e.g. at 5000 feet there is 0.013 pound of oxygen per cubic foot. And the 15000 feat there is only 0.010 pound of oxygen per cubic foot. So its altitude increases it became more defect for engine to obtain the maximum oxygen it means generate its required power. In and naturally as per the engine the only force pushing a into the engine is every distressing atmospheric pressure. At turbocharger helps the supplied air by force the air into the combustion chamber at the pressure. It able to do this since the reeducate atmospheric pressure make the turbine more efficient thus the engine can maintained virtually the same air-fuel ratio at sea level .
